Have the place all to yourself in the sweltering hot month of August. Clean, well-kept campground with about 8 camping sites, each with picnic table, pole to hang food away from critters and a fire ring. Day use picnic area with 3 tables and one grill. Lots of trails, unfortunately did not see many anals about besides grasshoppers, dragonflies, butterflies and a couple hawks. As I was leaving a couple came in with their horses, that's the way to do it!

It could be a perfect place for camping if they could add a hand well pump for cleaning or to use with a sawyer type filter

Such a beautiful walk. Saw lots of wild flowers, foot prints and mushrooms. Did hear some gun shots as i think hunting might be allowed. The pretty scrubby so be ware of the summer sun, i went in November with overcast weather which was quite pleasant. Honestly such a great park that's away from the more popular ones. There's camping and payment via QR code. Cell service is limited, the entrance is easy to miss, portapotties by the parking lot.

Camp needs to get moved. Too close to creek. Camp and trail get flooded.

This review is specifically for Wood Duck Campsite. We stayed in the primitive camping area which consists of 2 sites, each about a mile apart from each other. The one closest to the parking lot is Black Bear, which was about a 3/4 mile walk. We stayed at Wood duck which was about 2 miles from the parking area. We're in pretty good shape and go on hikes often and this hike totally crushed us...this hike, with gear, is not a joke and was very draining. We had our camping gear in a wagon and also had a cooler with all terrain wheels. Most of the path to the campsites is loose sand. It took us an hour to go the 2 miles. There is a red path which is shorter but is full sun and full sand. We took the red path on our way to the campsite and the yellow back to the car. I definitely suggest going the extra .2 miles and take the yellow path. Its nicely shaded and the ground is more firm.

The campsite itself is well equipped if you plan on primitive camping. There is one picnic table and a fire ring without a grate. Its nicely settled near the water but not so close so our site was not flooded. We could see this was obviously flooded during rainy season but we were there in early January. We ran into other hikers in the morning on our way out but besides that we felt that we were completely alone, which is pretty rare with Florida camping. We only found a single piece of trash which is also a rarity. There was a train we heard around 4am and some dirt bikes around midnight but beside that it was very very quiet. There was plenty of firewood, although a good half of it was rotten so it burned pretty quickly. We never had to walk further than a few thousand feet to gather wood and we had enough to burn all night and a few hours the next day.
I have a lot of good to say about this site but please be aware of the brutal hike out if you have gear with you. Pack light, take your trash back with you and take your time!
